Join us on Trails Day!
April 6, 2011 The Choctaw/Kiamichi Ranger District has completed signage for an alternate detour route around Big Cedar Creek in Oklahoma at Mile 30.3 in the case the creek is flooded/impassable.
Many thanks to the Ouachita National Forest for making this alternate route for us.
FoOT Supporters,
It looks like spring is here and that means the greenbrier is growing. Better break out the loppers and get to work on our adopted sections. Friends of the Ouachita Trail is off and running in one of the most important years of our history. I have long said that a key to our ultimate success is a steady flow of new membership — not just new blood to do the hard work on the trail, but also new blood to step into leadership positions with fresh ideas and fresh enthusiasm. This year, we have both. In fact, we have new leaders at every level. New adopters, a new District Captain, a new officer, and three new members on the Board of Directors.

Thanks to all our volunteers for making it so. Continue reading
